El Nino's heat test: India may face world's biggest energy system impact

El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO)

ENSO is a recurring coupled ocean-atmosphere climate phenomenon in the tropical Pacific. Under neutral conditions, easterly trade winds drive warm surface water westward across the Pacific, sustaining the Walker Circulation — a large atmospheric convective loop.
