PM-KISAN 24th Instalment: ₹18,680 Crore for 9.34 Crore Farmer Families
The 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme is to be released on 30 October 2026 at a national event in Gujarat (Bhildi, Banaskantha district).
More than ₹18,680 crore will go to over 9.34 crore farmer families across the country, at ₹2,000 per family, directly into their bank accounts.
In Gujarat alone, more than 52.33 lakh farmer families will get over ₹1,051 crore.
According to official figures, the first 23 instalments have already transferred more than ₹4.47 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmer families.
Farmers must have completed e-KYC (online identity check using Aadhaar), linked their land records, and seeded Aadhaar with their bank account to receive the money.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN): Direct Farmer Income Support
PM-KISAN is a central government scheme that gives every eligible landholding farmer family ₹6,000 a year as income support. The money is paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, directly into the farmer's bank account. The Centre pays the full cost, so it is a Central Sector Scheme. It is run by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
The 24th instalment is the second payment under the scheme's new five-year phase. The release of ₹2,000 to about 9.34 crore families shows the scheme's steady design: a fixed amount, three times a year, straight into bank accounts, available only to landholding families who have completed e-KYC.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY): India's Bank Account for Every Household
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is the national mission, started in 2014, to give every adult a basic bank account with zero minimum balance, a RuPay debit card and accident insurance. These accounts form the "J" of the JAM trinity: Jan Dhan accounts, Aadhaar identity and Mobile phones. Together, they let the government send money straight to people through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), cutting out middlemen and fake beneficiaries.
Sending ₹18,680 crore to over 9 crore families in a single day is possible only because nearly every family now has an Aadhaar-linked bank account. PM-KISAN is one of the biggest users of the DBT system that PMJDY made possible.
