FSSAI proposes front-of-pack red pictorial warnings for foods high in fat, sugar, salt
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) filed a compliance affidavit before the Supreme Court proposing a front-of-pack warning label, in red colour, for packaged food products high in added saturated fat, added sugar, and/or salt

A phased rollout is proposed: Phase I covers products high in two or more nutrients of concern plus sweetened beverages, and Phase II extends the warning to products high in even a single nutrient
