The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved development of a 135.87 km, four-lane access-controlled corridor on National Highway-15 between Guwahati and Tezpur in Assam, at a total capital cost of ₹8,970.20 crore.

The corridor will be built under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Toll mode, running along the North Bank of the Brahmaputra river.

The project includes five major bypasses (around 58.7 km) at congestion points such as Baihata Chariali, Sipajhar, Kharupetia, Dekiajuli, and Tezpur, along with 15 major bridges, 30 minor bridges, 19 flyovers, 46 underpasses, and one elephant underpass on the Tezpur bypass.
